New York–Paul J. Gough of Reuters reports that colleged students were given the opportunity to report on the California wildfires from a different perspective.

FOX News senior V.P. for development Joel Cheatwood, who may be familiar to some as the news director at KCBS, WMAQ, & WCBS, utilized on-the-scene reports from Malibu and San Diego via student journalist for thePalestra.com for use on the FOX News Channel and FOXNews.com.

Stefan Holt, son of NBC News’ Lester Holt, of Pepperdine University, and Shelby Holiday of the University of San Diego both provided reports about the evacuations at their respective schools and interviews with students.

Further content will either end up on the FOX News Channel or FOXNews.com, Cheatwood said.
